Brighton Council has recently installed WCCTV's redeployable CCTV cameras to tackle fly-tipping and immediately secured a return on their investment.
Six Caught in One Day!
Brighton and Hove City Council have caught SIX fly-tippers in the act just 24 hours after installing WCCTV's redeployable CCTV systems.
WCCTV's technical support specialists worked closely with the council's CCTV department to identify the optimal locations to deploy the cameras and provided remote commissioning services to ensure the cameras captured the required evidence.
The result is the Council issuing fines totalling over £2000 to those filmed illegally dumping commercial and household waste at several hotspot locations - an immediate return on their investment.
Councillor Amy Heley, chair of the council’s environment, transport and sustainability committee, said: “Fly-Tipping affects everyone in the city. It costs the council taxpayers money; it damages the look of the city and harms the environment.
“We hope these cameras act as a deterrent, but if fly-tippers are caught, the cameras will enable the council to prosecute the offenders, which will help us tackle this ongoing problem.
Following an extensive market evaluation, Brighton and Hove City Council identified WCCTV's 4G Speed Dome + ANPR as the ideal technology solution in their fight against flytipping.

Its portability allows it to be rapidly installed and moved to new locations should requirements change - allowing the council to be dynamic in its response to fly-tipping, ASB and other crime.
