WCCTV has supported local charity, Springhill Hospice, by raising over £700 as part of a ‘Go Green’ campaign.
WCCTV has raised over £700 to support local charity, Springhill Hospice, by taking part in the hospice's ‘Go Green’ campaign.
The Go Green campaign celebrates the 30th anniversary of the hospice, which supports local people facing end-of-life illnesses by providing free of charge palliative care, both at the hospice and in people's own homes.
The hospice relies heavily on fundraising to continue providing its services, with only part of its funding coming from central government.
The team at WCCTV took part in a range of sponsored events and activities to raise funding, including organising a tombola, charity auction and a 'sponge attack' where staff were allowed to lock senior management and directors into the stocks and take turn launching wet sponges at them!
Unsurprisingly, the sponge attack attracted several donations, with many asking for the event to held weekly if not daily!!
Many of WCCTV's staff have family members who have experienced the fabulous care provided by Springhill Hospice first hand, so everyone was keen to get involved and give back to a local charity that has done so much for so many.
A cheque for £750 was presented to the hospice by WCCTV CEO David Gilbertson, pictured below.
