Join our dynamic SHEQ team as a SHEQ Compliance Assistant and play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality standards across all business operations.

SHEQ Compliance Assistant in Rochdale

Location: Rochdale HQ

The primary aims of this role are to assist the SHEQ team in ensuring the company and all sites are fully compliant with UK law and are adopting best practice standards with high efficiency. The successful; candidate will play a vital administrative part in assisting the SHEQ team to establish Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality procedures, and practices across the business, and ensuring they are fit for purpose as the business grows.

The role as a SHEQ Compliance Assistant:

  • Responsible for completing Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQ) as per set SLA.
  • Responsible for ensuring all shared inboxes are monitored, directing any technical queries to the relevant team members.
  • Assist in updating third party portals when policies and certificates are out of date for all company accreditations, memberships and client portals.
  • Safety, Health and Environmental champion – assisting in organising regular environmental campaigns, undertaking health and safety walk-arounds and promoting good SHEQ practices as instructed.
  • Assist in updating certificates when reissued and making accessible to all employees.
  • Assist in administration preparation of external and internal SHEQ audits.
  • Re-issuing and communicating main policies to all employees as and when reviewed/as instructed by the Compliance Manager.
  • Administration of the Quality master index list.
  • Assist in maintaining the SHEQ team excel trackers.
  • Be a Fire Warden, supporting the Health and Safety Coordinator to ensure fire safety compliance across all sites.
  • Providing general administration support to the team.
  • Providing holiday cover for team coordinators.
  • Assist with facilities maintenance.
  • To ensure that all procedures are adhered to as stipulated in the WCCTV Quality, Environmental, Information Security and Occupational Health & Safety management systems.

 

About you:

  • 2 years’ experience in an Administration or Facilities role.
  • Basic SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment & Quality) knowledge.
  • College level education, preferably Business Administration NVQ.
  • Knowledge of ISO accreditation is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent PC skills (excel, word, etc).
  • Strong communication skills written and verbal.
  • Ability to use your initiative to solve problems.
  • Strong organisation skills and attention to detail.
  • Be a Team Player – collaboration is key
